1963/3/31 All the 1st-year students of Kochi Technical College (private) were determined to be transferred to the newly established Kochi National College of Technology.  
1963/4/1 Kochi National College of Technology established, temporarily using the school building of former Kochi Technical College (private) in Asahi-tenjincho, Kochi City, with the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Chemistry.  
1964/2/15 College emblem determined.  
1964/4/1 Moved from the temporary campus to the newly built one in Monobe, Nankoku City.  
1965/3/6 Named the student dormitory "Sessei-ryo."  
1966/1/22 The college song determined.  
1966/4/1 Department of Civil Engineering established.  
1974/10/22 Transfer admission test from technical high schools introduced.  
1980/2/2 Enrollment by recommendation introduced.  
1981/4/16 Auditing student system started.  
1989/4/8 International students newly accepted.  
1995/3/22 Transfer admission test from academic high schools introduced.  
1995/4/1 Reorganized Department of Industrial Chemistry into Department of Materials Science and Engineering.  
1996/4/1 Reorganized Department of Civil Engineering into Department of Civil Systems Engineering.  
1998/4/1   ICT Promotion Office and Research Promotion Office established.
2000/4/1 Advanced Courses established.  
2002/3/20   Education Improvement Promotion Office established.
2002/5/9   Research Promotion Office renamed to Industry-Academia Collaboration Promotion Office.
2003/4/15 The program (Civil Engineering) accredited by Japan Accreditation Board Engineering Education (JABEE) in 2002 carried out in the Advanced Course in Civil Engineering.  
2004/4/1 Converted to an independent administrative institution "National Institute of Technology, Kochi College."  
2004/5/10 The programs (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering) accredited by Japan Accreditation Board Engineering Education (JABEE) in 2003 carried out respectively in the Advanced Course in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Advanced Course in Materials Science and Engineering.  
2006/3/20 NIT, Kochi College was accredited by National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation that it meet the standards of Institutional Certified Evaluation and Accreditation.  
2006/4/1   Student Counseling Office and Environmental Management Office established.
2007/4/1 The teaching staff organization of general education renamed to Department of Integrated Arts and Science.
Alternative courses system between 2 courses (Civil Engineering Course and Architecture Course) introduced to the 4th and 5th year students of Department of Civil Systems Engineering.		 Regional Technology Collaboration Center, Information Processing Center, and Academic and Career Support Office established.
2007/10/23 Kochi Prefecture determined to grant every student at Department of Civil Systems Engineering eligibility requirements (business experience exempted) for the second-class architect examination upon graduation.  
2008/4/1 Changed the alternative courses system to the elective subjects system (for civil engineering and architectural subjects) for the 4th and 5th year students of Department of Civil Systems Engineering.  
2009/4/1 Department of Electrical Engineering renamed to Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Science.
Department of Civil Systems Engineering renamed to Department of Environmental Civil Engineering and Architecture.		 Education and Research Support Center established.
2010/8/1   International Exchange Office established.
2011/7/21   Risk Management Office established.
2013/1/1   Academic and Career Support Office reorganized to Career Support Office.
2013/2/21   Gender Equality Promotion Committee established.
2013/11/9 Tree planting ceremony celebrating 50th anniversary of the college held.  
2013/11/15 Memorial ceremony, lecture, and party celebrating 50th anniversary of the college held.  
2014/4/1   Strategic Public Relations Office established.
2015/4/1   Education Improvement Promotion Office reorganized to Active Learning Education Center.
Comprehensive Student Support Center established.
2016/4/1 Department of Social Design Engineering established.
